Cookies and browser storage
1. Essential device cookie
Hopzup sets one essential HttpOnly cookie (__Host-hz or hz) containing a random device identifier and secret. It keeps the same browser connected to its paired devices. It is session-only on shared computers and may be remembered on personal devices.
2. Optional account cookie
If you sign in to a Pro or Team account, a second essential HttpOnly cookie (__Host-hz-acct or hz-acct) keeps that account session. It is session-only on shared computers. Signing out or revoking a device removes it.
3. Free-limit cookie
Hopzup sets an essential HttpOnly cookie (__Host-hz-q or hz-q) with a random value so the Free limit belongs to your browser: disconnecting or ending a session does not reset it. It holds nothing about you or your files and expires after 400 days. Clearing site data removes it.
4. Local and session storage
The app stores your language choice, a draft message, pending pairing/invitation/device-link state and a local list of dismissed items in browser storage. These values stay on your device and are used only to make the interface work.
5. Service worker
The installable app caches Hopzup application files, not your transferred content. Clearing site data removes the cache and local settings.
6. Paddle checkout
Paddle.js and Paddle checkout are loaded only when you open a paid checkout. Paddle may use its own cookies or storage for fraud prevention and payment processing under Paddle’s privacy terms. Hopzup does not receive full card details.
7. No advertising or analytics cookies
Hopzup does not use advertising, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics cookies. Because only strictly necessary storage is used for the service you request, no optional cookie consent banner is shown. If this changes, we will update this page and, where required, request consent before optional storage.
