Terms of use

1. Provider and service

hopzup (hopzup.online) is provided by Armin Ravkić (see imprint). hopzup lets you send text, links, photos and files between your own devices or devices whose owners have agreed. It is a transfer tool, not a storage or backup service: content is available only for a short time and is then deleted.

2. Use and plans

The basic service is free of charge and needs no account. Limits for the free plan (such as file size, daily volume and number of connected devices) are shown in the app. Paid plans with more capacity may be offered; their price and conditions are shown before purchase and apply in addition to these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use hopzup to:

• send illegal content, malware, or content that infringes the rights of others;
• send content to people who have not agreed to receive it, or to harass, spam or deceive anyone;
• circumvent limits or security measures, or overload, scan or attack the service;
• use the service in an automated or mass way that goes beyond normal personal use.
• Please also respect your employer's IT rules. hopzup does not try to get around company network restrictions.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to your content. You allow us to store and transmit it only as far as needed to deliver it to the device you chose. You are responsible for what you send. We do not check content, but we may block devices if we become aware of a violation of these terms or of the law.

5. Availability

We work to keep hopzup reliable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every transfer succeeds. Content may be lost, for example after a server failure. Always keep the original.

6. Security of files

Files are not scanned for viruses. Open only files you expect and trust.

7. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health, and as required by mandatory law. For simple negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. For the free service, liability for simple negligence is excluded as far as legally permitted. We are not liable for loss of content that you could have kept yourself.

8. Ending use

You can stop using hopzup at any time and delete your device data with "Forget this device". We may block devices that violate these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms with effect for the future, for example when features or the law change. The current version is always available here.

10. Applicable law

The law of the provider's place of business applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.
